We can choose a class for the different characters, and once we reach a certain level in a certain class, we can unlock other classes. The action takes place in turns and after moving the character, in a kind of grid, we can perform various actions that depend on our class. This war, the result of the greed for power and lack of scruple of the classes that control the kingdoms, would come to be known as the War of the Lions.įinal Fantasy Tactics, as the name implies, presents tactical battles that take place in scenarios in which our characters are placed and move, almost as if in a game of chess. In a kingdom that is trying to recover from the chaos and disorder that took place after the 50 years’ war, peace insists on not appearing, and amidst all the chaos, a new war is about to start. Ramza Beoulve, is a young man of noble blood and pure heart who fights for a just world, but his ideals are not appropriate for the time, and as such, he soon discovers the price for his innocence. Undoubtedly, the story is one of the game’s strong points, captivating and well presented.
Far from the traditional, hero against evil villain, the story of Tactics puts the player in a kind of fictional Medieval Europe where themes such as friendship, betrayal, war, power, ambition, social marginality and religion are approached and presented in an excellent way. The history of this game, may well have no rival in quality because the themes covered here, give it a different charisma from the other RPG`s and makes it, from the narrative point of view, special.
